The Number 1 concern new mums have about their Brisbane newborn photography session
I’m not sure there is another moment in our lives where things change quite as much as they do welcoming a new baby into the world. There is so much anticipation in the lead up, wondering what our new little baby will be like. Then there is the birth, and well, that’s a lot. And then it’s time to take this little baby home and figure out how to look after them and also find time to look after yourself (and possibly other children) at the same time. So getting organised for a newborn photography session can understandably be a worry for some parents. And do you know what a lot of Mum’s worry about? The house. It’s hard enough to find time to shower let alone tidy the house, right?!
I know it’s not as easy as me just saying, don’t worry about it. But seriously… don’t worry about it. I don’t expect to walk into a sparkling clean, immaculate house. If there is washing piled in the corner and dishes in the sink, that’s just life - especially with a newborn baby. During your Brisbane newborn photography session, we can move things if we need to and after over 10 years as a photographer, I’ve gotten pretty good at hiding mess in photos. And the focus of the images if your newborn baby anyway!
And if a little bit of mess creeps into one of the newborn photos, believe it or not, this might be something that helps you remember some of the little things that would be forgotten at this time in your life. Maybe its the 4 different types of dummies you’ve bought because your little one doesn’t seem to like any of them. Or in years to come when you can actually enjoy your coffee while it’s still hot - you might notice a cold coffee sitting on the table and help you see just how much life has changed.
But ultimately, your newborn photos will be about just that; your newborn baby and all the love and cuddles between you all. So if it is one of your concerns for your newborn photography session, try not to stress about it - chances are I will have just left my messy house so it will make me feel right at home.
